The only Limits in our Lives are those we Impose on ourselves.

Have you discovered your potentials? Do you know that you are gifted beyond your comprehension? Why do you consider yourself a chicken, when in actual fact, you are an eagle? You are created to soar.

I want you to take some time and read this short excerpt from the book titled Maximizing your Potentials by late Dr. Myles Munroe:

(1) Know your Source: There's nothing on earth that doesn't have a source, an origin or a root. A river flows from a source to join another river. The food you eat has plants and animals as its source. Likewise, human beings have their source--God. We proceed from Him. Hence, we have been endowed with His awesome qualities, which are beyond comprehension. Surprisingly, most of us have no idea the magnitude of our potential. Therefore, one very important way to maximize our potentials is to know that we are from God; so, we are small gods, like scripture says, and we have immeasurable potentials.

(2) Understand your Function: For you to maximize your potential, you MUST understand what your functions are. For example, the function of a radio is to transmit the programs going on in a radio station to you, so that from your location, you can listen and know what is going on within your country and the world. Similarly, every one of us has a unique function to perform on earth. Without understanding your function, you can't maximize your potentials. What is/are your functions?

(3) Understand your Purpose: Before God made us, he had a purpose. Although our purposes are unique, they are all for His glorification. The purpose for which Christ was sent was to die a shameful death on the cross. The purpose for which God made David was to rule God's people, Israel, with justice and truth. So, you were made for a PURPOSE, and discovering that purpose is your sole responsibility.

(4) Know your Resource: God couldn't have created us for something without the material or tools we need  to accomplish it. For example, some of the resources of the Apostle Paul were his education, knowledge and language. With these resources he was able to preach the Gospel, a duty he was called to by God. Just like St Paul, we all have resources we should use in order to fulfil God's plan for our lives and maximize our potentials.

(5) Living in the Right Environment: A farmer went to his farm to sow seeds. He scattered all the seeds on the farm, except one, which he put inside a small flower pot. Now, it was harvest time, and the farmer went to his farm to gather the fruits. While harvesting the fruits, he saw that the seed he had dropped in the flower pot didn't grow because it was deficient in nutrients and sunlight. That seed did not grow because it was in the wrong environment. Like that seed, some of us are in wrong  environments. Thus, we must find the ideal environment to grow. Find your environment!

(6) Work: No matter how talented a person is, the day they decide not to work is the day they start dying. When you work, you showcase your potential and create more chances to grow. An indolent person will SURELY kill his potentials and die of hunger. We must not be like that. You've got to work so that your talents will develop, and people will see your good work. And when they see your good work, they will recommend you for a greater and more rewarding task.

At the end of the day, it is your sole responsibility to discover your potentials. . . and then maximize it.
